Drive Safely This Spring Using These Five Safe Driving Tips

With winter behind us and summer just ahead, spring is in the air. While spring brings out warmer weather and the flowers, it can also make for some really challenging driving. Here at Patrick Volvo we want you to be safe out on the roads, that’s why we’re going to share five spring driving tips to ensure your safety and that of everyone else on the road.

Always monitor and fill your tires if the pressure is low. While it is always important to keep your tires filled, that need is heightened during the spring. With so many potholes created over the winter months, it’s important to limit the damage on your vehicle by ensuring the tires are filled properly.

Keep an eye out for pedestrians. Everyone is excited for winter to be over, and they’ll all want to enjoy the warmer weather. Be mindful of pedestrians, cyclists, skateboarders, and all things in between when you’re driving.

Maintain a safe distance from all vehicles in front of you. Spring showers bring more than just flowers, they bring dangerous road conditions. After a long and dirty winter, the roads can be covered in dirt and oils that can make stopping difficult on a rainy day. Take the necessary precautions and ensure you have enough room to stop.

Repair or replace your wipers. Windshield wipers can take some wear and tear over the cold winter months. Ensure that you are equipped with properly working wipers for those rainy days.

Pay attention. This last one is more of a general reminder. Spring can be a busy time of year for everyone on the roads. The best way to ensure your safety and the safety of others is to always keep your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road to ensure no damage comes to you, your vehicle, or anyone else on the road.
