  1. Who is eligible for the Volvo First Responders Program (January 5, 2020 - January 4, 2022)?

  • 911 Dispatchers
  • Police (Police Officer, Sheriff/Sheriff's Deputy, Correctional Officer, State Trooper, Federal Law Enforcement Officer (Example: Department of Public Safety, Central Intelligence Agency; please note that not all Federal Law Enforcement Officers qualify for the program))
  • Fire Department (Career Firefighter, Volunteer Firefighter, EMT)
  • EMT (Paramedic)
Occupations that DO NOT qualify for the Volvo First Responders Program:
  • Registered Nurse
  • Ski Patrol - unless you have a current EMT license
  • CERT Team Members (Community Emergency Response Team)
  • VIPS - Volunteers in Police Service
  • Search and Rescue
  • Emergency Management Volunteers

  1. How can a customer verify their First Responder eligibility and how long does the verification process take?

All verification must be completed through the site, by clicking on the "Get your Volvo PIN" link. This will route a customer to our verification partner Verification process typically take less than a minute; however, when verifying through the document upload option, it may take up to 4 minutes.

  1. What are some of the ways that a customer can confirm verification via
  • First Responder Records: Enter your agency, certification date, or registry information to instantly verify your EMT or Firefighter group status. checks this information against federal and state databases.
  • Document Upload: Upload images of official first responder documentation to verify your Law Enforcement, EMT, or Firefighter status. The team reviews document uploads within 60 seconds at a secure U.S.-based facility
*There are multiple ways of getting a copy of your paper documentation on to your computer in a digital format; including (but not limited to) using a scanner or you can take a picture with a smartphone or tablet and email it to yourself, etc.)

  1. What documentation do I need to verify my first responder status?
The documentation you can use to verify your first responder status depends upon the type of first responder you are:
  • EMT/EMS can use a state license, a training certificate from the last year, or an ID card with their name and title on it.
  • Firefighters can use an ID card with their name and title on it, a training certificate from the last year, or a membership card that is not expired.
  • Law Enforcement Officers can use a valid ID card that states their name and title, a pay stub that shows their position, or as a Federal LEO you can use your SF-50.
NOTE: We do not accept transcripts, department logos, business cards, emblems, or pictures of individuals dressed in uniform as a form of verification. All badges must be accompanied by proper identification. We are also unable to verify ID cards labeled as "Employee," "Civilian," or cards that do not have your position as a Law Enforcement Officer, Firefighter, or EMT/Paramedic.

  1. I do not have an email address, is there a way to verify without having one?
Currently, it is required that everyone have a valid email address to be verified and to obtain a Volvo PIN.

  1. I do not want to upload any information via Is there another process?
Unfortunately, no. Volvo Cars has chosen this process to ensure the highest level of verification, as well as to reduce fraud. Volvo Cars wants to ensure that only eligible individuals have access to the exclusive offer. At this time customers must be verified using this method.

  1. I have uploaded documentation but have not received an email confirmation?
  • Confirm the eligible first responder individual provided a valid email address. Check email and SPAM folders
  • Confirm the first responder individual falls within program criteria. See Program eligible question above
  • If the customer is unable to access the Volvo PIN via a newly created email, then contact for assistance.

  1. I am having issues trying to get verified with and I am not sure how to get assistance?
Please call Program Headquarter at (877) 702-2234 and they will work with to validate eligibility for this program.

  1. I attempted to verify but was unable to verify by uploading documentation. Why?
There are several situations that may cause your verification attempt to be denied prior to uploading a document. Some examples include the following:
  • The information you entered did not match
  • The information you entered matches an identity that already exists in our system
  • The document you uploaded already exists in our system and is being flagged as a duplicate
  • Your credit/identity profile has been frozen either voluntarily or as a result of your identity being compromised
  • The information you entered was entered incorrectly
  • You have move within the last year
  • There is erroneous information in your credit line
Any of the situations listed above could be contributing to the reason for denial.
