The Volvo S60 is turning heads all over, and our Chicago Volvo dealer is excited to share the latest reviews of this luxury vehicle. Stop by Patrick Volvo today to take the S60 or another Volvo in Chicago for a spin.
Volvo continues to run with this squeaky clean design. We first spotted this sly four-door sedan in 2010 and it continues to be a favorite tooling-around-town car. The S60 isn't for everybody, which is exactly what makes this a spirited alternative to the standard Euro-luxe options.
Second date: What's genius about this look for Volvo that despite it's wicked looking exterior, its boasts a bevy of safety features, like the pedestrian crash prevention system that was first introduced in this vehicle and has spread across the product lineup. All-wheel drive has been added this season, though I tried to stay away with the streets during the actual storm and subsequent nor'easter.
On the inside: Simple, clean concise layout of the dash and HMI system. I remember testing previous generations of the S60 circa 2005 and finding the luggage space leaving something to be desired; Volvo has come along with its proportional layout. Volvo inherently understand the cold, so the heated seats are functional and not-charring. The sound system is respectable, though not mind-blowing.
MPG: 21/30 mpg (FWD), 20/29 mpg (AWD) - The gas tank that kept on giving when it was most needed.
Under the Hood: Turbo! The base engine gives good love: 300 hp from turbo I-5 that produces 250 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque.
Five Days Later: The Volvo badge makes pedestrians do a double take in disbelief. This is no grocery-getter as it moves from 0 to 60 mph in a respectable 6.6 sec. Steering is spot-on, and when you need to get around city driving conditions, the throttle is there running backup. Best descriptor: refreshing. Volvo can check the quality product category, as succeeded in seceding from the Ford empire.
