For the latest XC90, the R-Design trim adds a number of distinguishing details, such as a silk metal finish for the grille, lower front spoiler and window surround, plus sporty exhaust tips, integrated roof rails, and side mirror caps in matte silver. There are also two R-Design wheel patterns on offer, measuring 20 and 22 inches across respectively.
Inside, sports seats with Nubuck and Nappa leather are joined by a perforated leather steering wheel. These are accompanied by more R-Design details, such as the gearshift knob, pedals, floor mats and illuminated tread plates. The driver also gets an exclusive R-Design leather key remote control. 
Finally, the new XC90's tablet-like touchscreen display in the center console and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster get a few tweaks for the R-Design upgrade. Both feature a unique R-Design.
