Volvo V60 Cross Country for Sale near Chicago

Driving around in Des Plaines or Arlington Heights, one can't help but notice the meteoric rise in popularity of the compact crossover, especially among four- to five-person families. Compared to the standard sedan, crossovers are more capable and more spacious, especially in the rear seats. The downside is that they are necessarily larger vehicles and don't maneuver as well as cars. However, if you need the extra capacity but don't want to sacrifice handling, the Volvo V60 wagon offers the best of both worlds.

The wagon used to be the quintessential family car and the epitome of bland functionality. However, those days are long gone, and the Volvo V60 is the proof. Luxurious, versatile, and refined, the V60 blends crossover utility with sedan-like maneuverability.

V60 Cross Country vs. V60

Elgin drivers seeking to add some extra capability to their wagon experience can select the V60 Cross Country. The Cross Country variant differs from the standard V60 with extra body cladding and taller ride height. This increase gives the driver an elevated view of the road, without sacrificing handling or maneuverability. The extra height increases the Cross Country's ground clearance by a full three inches over the V60, giving it better off-road capability as well.

What's New for 2020

After a one-year hiatus in 2019, the V60 Cross Country returns for the 2020 model year with a full redesign. Volvo enhanced the Cross Country's exterior aesthetics and interior accommodations and increased the output of the T5 engine.

Powertrain

The V60 Cross Country variant has one powertrain. The T5 engine is a turbocharged two-liter four-cylinder that produces 250 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The engine pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel-drive is standard.

Trims and Feature Highlights

The V60 Cross Country streamlines available features to just one trim level and a few options packages. It comes well-equipped out of the box, with standard amenities like 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, a hands-free power liftgate, a panoramic sunroof, and heated front seats with power adjustments. Standard technology features include a virtual instrument panel/gauge cluster, a 10-speaker audio system, a 9-inch Sensus touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, and several advanced driver aids.

The available Advanced Package equips the V60 Cross Country with headlight washers, cornering adaptive headlights, fog lights, a head-up display, a surround-view camera system, and the Pilot Assist Driver Assistance System with Adaptive Cruise Control.

Other notable options include four-zone automatic climate control, ambient interior lighting, premium leather upholstery, massaging front seats, heated rear seats, interior and exterior aesthetic enhancements, 19-inch wheels, and more.
